Impact of export and import on value addition of ready-made garments sector in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has achieved the prestigious second place among biggest textile exporters countries. The paper's main objective was to explore relationship between value addition from ready-made garments with export and import that sector. study further focused on influence of previous exports, imports, current addition. based three time series variables, namely export, import, Bangladesh, using data Central Bank (Bangladesh Bank) for years 1994 2020. variables exhibited unit root problem were converted stationary after first difference, checked by Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) Test. multiple linear regression model illustrated, one hand, a highly significant positive other negative in Bangladesh. Moreover, paper used Vector Autoregression (VAR) influences lag values those results suggested causation short run, but insignificant long run. In conclusion, Bangladesh's garment industry plays an important role economy, it is prudent expand manufacturing more future.
